PROCEDURE

Anticipatory Set
Words will Encourage Me Graffiti Poster
Using various of modern and appropriate grade-level magazines, students will work in their team group (of four) to create a Graffiti Poster of words that represents a 4th grader.
Teaching Procedures
  1. Anticipatory Set
  2. Pre-Assessment: View Blog Entries and analyze it's purpose as a class discussion.
  3. Students will define what is a blog, using the class discussion.
  4. In their team group, students will make a list of attributes of a Blog Page.
  5. As a class, we will review All About a Blog,
    - Blogging Rules
    - Blog Rubric
    - How to Set-Up a Blog
  6. Individually, students will create Self-Portrait Collage.
  7. In partners, listen to a variety of age-appropriate music that relates in the meaning of one's self being stress-free. Stress-Free Music Selection
  8. Students will individually complete a draft of their personal Blog using a Template aligned to the Blog Rubric (Extra Features), using their Self-Portrait Collage as a Page Background Image and embedding their Stress-Free Music using mixpod.com.
  9. Students will keep daily journals about topics relating to Self-Worth in their personal daily logs.
  10. Students will begin composing daily blog entries that are accurate, interesting, and relevant to the theme of their blog (Self-Worth), with the help of daily topics.
  11. Finally, students will use the Blog Rubric to evaluate their personal blogs and a partner.
Closure
This is ME World!”
Students will showcase their Blog and share their experiences for their families, school, and community on “Family Night.”
